Love Creating Shrines

For the past few years I was inspired to create small shrines to give honor to all that is Divine, Our Lord, Blessed Mother, Angels and Saints and love creating them.

Recently I created some new designs, besides the locket shrines I created, I also created some that are visible, the pocket statues are inside a glass dome, which I also include a piece of broken rosaries inside.

 I love antique rosaries and when I am able to create a piece using broken rosaries, I create with the utmost respect and use them to give them a new life and they carry the love and prayers of the previous owners and that is why I love to add them to my creations

Here are my newest creations.  In one as I was taking a picture before finishing the necklace, the St. Therese Shrine, I noticed in the picture some sort of reflection on top of the glass and continued to take pictures but, what I thought it was reflections, appears to be some sort of mist, which is not the first time I create a piece honoring St. Therese that a mist appears.   Upon closer look at the picture and enhancing it, I was able to see some faces, some appear to be Saints, one in particular is Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos, which I happen to have a piece of cloth touched to his relic and I also touch my jewelry to his relic.  I will include a picture on the bottom.

I was inspired to create another bracelet honoring Our Beautiful Mother Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal but was not sure how to even began and all of the sudden these beads began to really stand out among the
others and at that moment I knew I had to create one with multiple styles of beads, of different styles, shapes and sizes and it reminded me of us, how Our Blessed Mother loves each one of us in our unique
style and our different personalities, She is for all of us and that was my inspiration to create it with these
beads.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Medals Charm Bracelet

Remember, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, what ineffable power thy divine Son hath given thee over His own adorable Heart. Full of trust in thy merits, we come before thee and beg thy protection. This is another inspirational bracelet I created honoring Our Beautiful Lady of the Immaculate Heart.

I used a beautiful color medal and adorned it with Czech. rhinestones. I used many other Catholic medals including Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, Czestochowa, Archangel St. Gabriel, Padre Pio and others and added a beautiful handcrafted angel created with a heart bead.

Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, or of the Scapular

The Church celebrates on this day the feast of the Scapular of Mount Carmel. The scapular, which derives its name from the Latin wordscapulæ, meaning shoulders, is a dress which covers the shoulders. It is mentioned in the rule of Saint Benedict as worn by monks over their other dress when they were at work, and it now forms a regular part of the religious dress in the old Orders. But it is best known among Catholics as the name of two little pieces of cloth worn out of devotion to the Blessed Virgin over the shoulders, under the ordinary garb, and connected by strings. The devotion of the scapular, now almost universal in the Catholic Church, began with the Carmelites. The history of its origin is as follows: During the thirteenth century the Carmelite Order suffered great persecution, and July 16, 1251, while Saint Simon Stock, then general of the Order, was at prayer, the Blessed Virgin appeared to him, holding in her hand a scapular. Giving it to the saint, she said,

"Receive, my dear son, this scapular of thy Order, as the distinctive sign of my confraternity, and the mark of the privilege which I have obtained for thee and the children of Carmel. It is a sign of salvation, a safeguard in danger, and a special pledge of peace and protection till the end of time. Whosoever dies wearing this shall be preserved from eternal flames."

I just loved creating this beautiful bracelet honoring Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. I used a color medal and set in on a gorgeous setting and adorned with vintage and new rhinestones.

I am Blessed

Today I feel so Blessed. God and Our Blessed Mother have been by my side all of my life and today I just could not contain my excitement and tears, of joy, when I received a large package in the mail from one of my favorite return buyers.

She sent me a large box full of misc. beading supplies, cameos and many medals, vintage and new. She wanted to share those with me to continue making my jewelry.

The interesting part is that due to my budget lately I could not buy any more supplies not medals and I was almost running out and to my surprise this box came without her knowing my situation.

I just praise God and Our Blessed Mother knowing my situation made sure I had enough supplies to continue.

I just had to share my wonderful experience.

St Nicholas and Patron Saints Medals Religious Bracelet

ST. NICHOLAS PATRON SAINT OF: CHILDREN, FISHERMEN, MERCHANTS, SAILORS, BAKERS AND DOCK WORKERS

ST. NICHOLAS

Was born toward the end of the third century.

His uncle, the Archbishop of Myra in Lycia, ordained him a priest, and appointed him abbot of a monastery; and on the death of the Archbishop he was elected Bishop of the vacant See.

Throughout his life he retained the bright manners of his early years, and showed himself the special protector of the innocent and the wronged.

Nicholas once heard that a person who had fallen into poverty intended to abandon his three daughters to a life of sin. Determined, if possible, to save, their innocence, the Saint went out by night, and, taking with him a bag of gold, flung it into the window of the sleeping father and hurried off.

He, on awaking, deemed the gift a Godsend, and with it dowered his eldest child. The Saint, overjoyed at his success, did the same for the second daughter, but the third time, as he stole away, the father, who was watching, overtook him and kissed his feet, saying "Nicholas, why do you conceal yourself from me? You are my helper, and the one who has delivered my soul and my daughters' from hell".

St. Nicholas is usually presented by the side of a barrel, where a certain man had concealed the bodies of his three children whom he had killed, but who were restored to life by the Saint.

I created this bracelet in honor of St. Nicholas using a very unique and special Brass medal made by cast a method and blessed at Moscow Russian Orthodox Priory

She was with child because she wore the Aztec Maternity Belt.

FEAST DAY DECEMBER 12
In 1531 a "Lady from Heaven" appeared to a poor Indian at Tepeyac, a hill northwest of Mexico City; she identified herself as the Mother of the True God, instructed him to have the bishop build a temple on the site and left an image of herself imprinted miraculously on his tilma, a poor quality cactus-cloth, which should have deteriorated in 20 years but shows no sign of decay 474 years later and still defies all scientific explanations of its origin

I created this necklace in honor of Our most humble Lady of Guadalupe using this beautiful pendant. Her picture is encased in glass and soldered together to give it a very unique finish.

To the necklace I added stabilized turquoise and a large coral bead.

THE JUBILEE MEDAL OF ST. BENEDICT

The power of St. Benedict is revealed in this small object that has been fostered by his spiritual sons many years. Marvelous is the aid which the St. Benedict Medal affords to its devout wearers in the manifold necessities of soul and body. On this account the Medal is well known and widely used throughout the Christian world; everywhere it is regarded as a highly favored object of devotion.

St. Benedict (born at Nursia, Italy, in 480) had a profound veneration for the holy Cross and for our Saviour Crucified. In virtue of the Sign of the Cross, he wrought many miracles and exercised great power over the spirits of darkness. In consequence of the great veneration in which St. Benedict was held from the early Middle Ages, it followed that a Medal was struck, one side of which represents St. Benedict holding the Cross in one hand and the Holy Rule in the other. Around the image of St. Benedict are these words in Latin "May his presence protect us in the hour of death." St. Benedict has ever been the patron of the dying, because of the circumstances attending his own most glorious death, for he breathed forth his soul while standing in prayer before the Most Blessed Sacrament.
The reverse of the Medal shows the image of the Cross. Around the margin are the initials of Latin words which form verses supposed to have originated with the holy Father Benedict himself. The English translation is: "Be gone Satan! Suggest not to me thy vain things. The cup thou properest me is evil; drink thou thy poison." In the angles formed by the arms of the Cross are the letters C.S.P.B., signifying "Cross of the holy Father Benedict." The letters on the Cross itself have this meaning: "May the holy Cross be my light; let not the dragon be my guide."

I cannot emphasize enough how powerful St. Benedict is when being attacked by evil. He is ready to intercede for you and your family.

St. Dymphna Relic Catholic Bracelet

Dymphna was fourteen when her mother died. Damon is said to have been afflicted with a mental illness, brought on by his grief. When none could be found, his evil advisers told him to marry his own daughter. Dymphna fled from her castle together with St. Gerebran, her confessor and two other friends. Damon found them in Belgium. He gave orders that the priest's head be cut off. Then Damon tried to persuade his daughter to return to Ireland with him. When she refused, he drew his sword and struck off her head. She was then only fifteen years of age. Dymphna received the crown of martyrdom in defense of her purity about the year 620. She is the patron of those suffering from nervous and mental afflictions. Many miracles have taken place at her shrine, built on the spot where she was buried in Gheel, Belgium.

On this bracelet I added beautiful lampwork beads and natural rose quartz gemstones, a beautiful stone known as "The Love Stone" with a peaceful feel to it.

When I'm inspired to create a bracelet in honor to St. Philomena, I feel a very strong youthful energy of a very lovely and uplifting young lady that loves nature from flowers to birds and loves colors as well, reminds her of God's rainbows.

I truly love creating such an uplifting and spiritual bracelet with St. Philomena's relic to make her honor.

That is why I created this bracelet in a colorful way representing a Heavenly garden surrounded by beautiful colors and flowers. I added a beautiful lampwork heart bead holding St. Philomena's Relic medal.

Infant of Prague Relgious Saints Medals Charm Bracelet

INFANT OF PRAGUE


The devotion to the Holy Child Jesus has long been a tradition of the Catholic Church for a very long time. This devotion is a veneration of our Lord's sacred Infancy. Many saints had a very strong devotion to the Divine Child, notably St. Therese of the Child Jesus, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Anthony of Padua, and St. Teresa of Avila.

Prague is the capitol city of the Czech Republic, which is at the very central of Europe with Germany, Poland, Russia and Austria as its neighbours. The history of the Infant Jesus of Prague started in the 17th century when a statue of the Infant Jesus was brought into Bohemia (now Czech Republic) and eventually was given to the Discalced Carmelites in Prague. Since then, the statue has remained in Prague and has drawn many devotees worldwide to go and honor the Holy Child. Many graces, blessings, favors and miraculous healings have been received by many who petitioned before the Infant Jesus.

History

The exact origin of the Infant Jesus statue was not truly known, but historical sources point to a small 28cm high sculpture of the Holy Child with a bird in his right hand carved in around the year 1340. Many other Infant Jesus sculptures were also carved by famous masters throughout Europe in the Middle Ages.

The popularity of the Child Jesus grew in the Baroque period in Spain which may have been caused by the visions of St. Teresa of Avila. A number of sculptures made in Spain eventually found their way to Prague. These sculptures were made of wax, ivory, and bronze and were dressed in garments reflecting the aristocratic fashion of that period.

It is unknown to this date which of those early sculptures that got to Prague was the exact origin of the Infant Jesus of Prague. It was speculated that it came from a monastery in Bohemia and from there it was obtained by Dona Isabella Manrique who gave it as a wedding gift to her daughter Marie Manrique who married a noble of the Czech kingdom. Later, the Holy Infant statue was again given to Marie's daughter Polyxena as a wedding gift in 1587. In 1628, Lady Polyxena presented the statue to the Carmelites at the Church of the Virgin Mary the Victorious in Mala Strana saying, "I am giving you what I most esteem of my possessions. Keep the sculpture in reference and you will be well off" (*FN1*). This statue then became known as the Infant Jesus of Prague. It stands 47 cm high (includes a 2cm base) and has a long gown around the wax body.

Shortly after 1628, the Saxons and the Swedes took turns to invade Prague and the Carmelites had to flee and the veneration of the Holy Infant ceased. It was not until 1638 that a young priest named Fr. P. Cyril, a Matre Dei, returned to Prague and found the Holy Infant statue buried in the ruins of the Lady of Victory church. Fr. Cyril cleaned the statue and placed it in the oratory for worship. While he was praying before the Infant Jesus, he heard the Infant Jesus say, "Have pity on Me and I will have pity on you. Give Me My hands and I will give you peace. The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you". (*FN2*)

The repairing of the statue's hand was a miracle since Fr. Cyril and his peers did not have the financial resources nor the know-how to repair it. Through prayer, Fr. Cyril asked the Blessed Virgin Mary in several occasions to to provide the necessary funds for fixing the Infant statue. The Divine Infant spoke to him again, "Place Me near the entrance of the sacristy and you will receive aid" (*FN3*). Fr. Cyril then did what he was told and in a few days time, the statue was fixed by a man who came to the sacristy to offer help.

Since the statue was fixed, a number of miracles had occurred and the word began to spread, resulting in a large increase of veneration to the Holy Child. This includes the Czech nobles as well. These early miracles were recorded in a book by P. Emerich a St Stephano, published in German in 1736 and in Czech in 1749 (*FN4*).

In 1641, an altar was built for the Infant Jesus in the church, and in 1644 a chapel was built, but was not completed until 1654. Many nobles of the time had greatly supported the Infant Jesus, among them were Lady Polyxena, King Ferdinard (Czech), King Charles Gustav(Sweden), and Bernard Ignatius of the Lords of Martinic. It is interesting to note that the crown over the Divine Infant's head came from Bernard Ignatius, who presented the Infant statue with a little gold crown set with precious stones and jewels on January 14, 1651 during a procession that carried the Infant Jesus statue from the Lady of Victory church to other Prague churches. The Infant Jesus was solemnly coronated on April 4, 1655 by the Archbishop Josef Corta acting for Cardinal Harrach III who was sick.

After that period, Prague went through more wars and unrest but the church and the Infant Jesus chapel was miraculously protected. In 1776 the altar was rebuilt using marble and two huge sculptures of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph were placed to the left and right sides of the altar. The Holy Infant was kept in a glass case standing on a pedestal engraved with crystals, and surrounding the Infant were twenty angels in gold.
