In 1531 a "Lady from Heaven" appeared to a poor Indian at Tepeyac, a hill northwest of Mexico City; she identified herself as the Mother of the True God, instructed him to have the bishop build a temple on the site and left an image of herself imprinted miraculously on his tilma, a poor quality cactus-cloth, which should have deteriorated in 20 years but shows no sign of decay 474 years later and still defies all scientific explanations of its origin.
O Virgin of Guadalupe,
Mother of the Americas,
grant to our homes the grace of loving
and respecting life in its beginnings,
with the same love with which
You conceived in Your womb
the life of the Son of God.
Blessed Virgin Mary,
Mother of Fair Love,
protect our families so that
they may always be united
and bless the upbringing of our children.
Our hope, look upon us with pity,
teach is to go continually to Jesus,

help us to rise again and return to Him

Today I had the inspiration to create a unique and bold necklace in honor of Our most humble Lady of Guadalupe.
I used a vintage cameo set in a stunning ornate setting and placed it on beautiful vintage lace adorned with rhinestones, calla Lillies and a rose.
I added stabilized turquoise beads to necklace keeping it simple on the necklace part to enhance the beauty of the came of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
