Also known as Martin of Charity; the Saint of the Broom (for his devotion to his work, no matter how menial) Established an orphanage and children’s hospital for the poor children of the slums. Set up a shelter for the stray cats and dogs and nursed them back to health. Lived in self-imposed austerity, never ate meat, fasted continuously, and spent much time in prayer and meditation with a great devotion to the Holy Eucharist.

I always feel so blessed when I'm able to find so unique medals from Beloved Saints that we don't see any medals from or hardly hear from them and why they are venerated and it is an honor to be able to create with such treasures.

This is a vintage medal of St. Martin de Porres with a very unique finish and it's always an honor as well to bring to light St. Martin de Porres in my creations.

I used many other Catholic medals including Our Lady of Fatima, Holy Family, Immaculate Heart of Mary, Our Lady of Czestochowa, Divine Mercy, Pope John Paul II, St. Faustina, St. Therese and others and beads are natural Jade.

St. Martin de Porres is one of my favorite Saints, I remember growing up always seeing His image at my mother's home and I would love just to look at it, it would bring me so much peace. At that time I was very young and didn't know much about Saints.

My mother would tell me about them but I could not comprehend at that age why they would want to help us, now I thank God that I grew up with such faith and was able to comprehend such honor to have such Saints intercede for us.

To create this bracelet I used a very unique and beautiful vintage medal of St. Martin de Porres to create this bracelet in his honor.

I used several other Catholic medals including gold tone in color images and silvertone oxidized Italian medals including Guardian Angel, Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, St. Padre Pio and others.

For the last couple of months I have come across St. Martin de Porres images and His name will appear on any search that I would do, but not was not searching for him in specific and I related it to him wanting a bracelet in his honor. I tried finding one of his medals, but was not successful and his image kept appearing.

Last week I went to my local store where I but most of my medals and as I was walking by many boxes they have in the warehouse of vintage medals, I perceived this beautiful scent like incense and I figured there was a special visit there and asked what I needed to find and I had the urge to start moving boxes and all of the sudden, there it was, a St. Martin de Porres medal outside one of the boxes. I was just amazed by that experience and that confirmed that he wanted one in His honor.

This is the vintage medal St. Martin provided for me, it is a gorgeous well detailed made in Germany and on the other side has the Sacred Heart of Jesus. I just love the detail.

Jesus Locket Altered Art Necklace

I created another inspirational and meaningful altered art locket necklace.

I created it as a shrine to Our Lord, Infant of Prague and St. Martin de Porres to be able to carry with you all the time.



The cameo I set it in a beautiful ornate setting and then added it to the locket and adorning it with beautiful amber color rhinestones.

Inside locket I added a tiny pocket statue of Infant of Prague, medal of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, tiny cross, three Hail Mary beads from vintage broken rosary.

Other side I added a picture of St. Martin de Porres from prayer card.
